Post-Exposure Evaluation
If a person is exposed to blood or OPIM a post exposure evaluation should be made. If many people are working in the breached area all the employees should undergo comprehensive evaluation.
These medical evaluations and procedures are available at no cost to the employee.
If there is spillage or exposure to BBP exposed person should
- Always remove contaminated PPE and clothing
- Always wash the site of exposure with soap and water for 15 minutes
- five minute eye rinse with running water
- Immediately seek medical treatment and evaluation from one of the providers
