Fainting
When our brain temporarily does not receive enough blood supply we became unconscious. This condition usually remains for a very brief period. Major cause fainting is a drop in blood pressure. Blood pressure can drop from dehydration, a quick change in position, standing or sitting still for a long period, or a sudden fear of something (such as the sight of blood).
Common Causes
- Anxiety
- Emotional upset
- Stress
- Severe pain
- Skipping meals
- Standing up too fast
- Standing for a long time in crowd
- Diabetes
- Blood pressure
SYMPTOMS:
- Nausea
- Giddiness
- Excessive sweating
- Dim vision
- Rapid heart beat
First Aid
If the casualty is about to faint or already fainted: loosen tight clothing, make sure the area is well-ventilated, wipe face with a cool washcloth, and don't let him or her stand or walk until feeling much better.
- If a person is fainting make them sit down or lie down

IF ALLREADY FAINT
- Position on his back
- Check to see air way is cleared and person is breathing.
- Loosen the clothes/belts tie /collar
- Elevate feet above head level
Elevation of legs
- Patient should become normal within a minute
- Seek medical help. Call 102.
- Check if breathing, pulse is normal if NOT start CPR.
Note:-If the person was injured in a fall associated with a faint, treat bumps, bruises or cuts appropriately. Control bleeding with direct pressure.
PREVENTION:-
- Drink plenty of fluids, especially in hot weather or during physical activity
- Take frequent breaks and move around as much as possible when sitting or standing for long periods of time
- Slowly breathe into a paper bag when they are anxious and breathing too fast
- Avoid overheated, cramped, or stuffy environments
